As many of our visitors may have noticed, the lake level is 3 feet lower than guide curve for this time of year, which is 299.5'. The lake level is around 296' today. Unfortunately, as of yesterday, we have had to close the Palmer Point Ramp. Please be cautious when boating to avoid any hazards that are a result of low water.

In spite of hurricane season, we have had very little rain here in the watershed. Water is NOT actively being let out of the reservoir in an effort to lower the lake level. In fact, since July the Dam has only been releasing the minimum amount of water required for operational purposes. The lake is managed for recreation, energy needs, environmental & ecological impacts, amount of dissolved oxygen levels, and effects downstream to name just a few of the areas that are taken into consideration when managing the lake and river below. Please check out the website below and click on some of the links to learn about how the lake is managed. You can also find the lake level, guide curve, historic levels, precipitation graphs, and a lot of other information to keep you up to date and informed.

As always, stay safe out there!
