Sun & Moon Phases

moonFisherman know that the best fishing times are when the fish are feeding. Many fishermen believe fish are most active during a 90 minute window surrounding four daily influences: Moonrise, moonset, sunrise and sunset. Some also say that by choosing times when sunrise/sunset and moonrise/moonset coincide with new or full moon phases, you'll increase you chance of a good fishing catch. You can use the online form below to generate a table of sunrise-sunset and moonrise-moonset times from the Naval Observatory. This will also tell you the phase of the moon.

There are a number of other fishing charts that compute the best time of day using moon and sun timetables, and in some cases using other factors. Here are links to some of the more popular.
