1. Largemouth Bass: Target 20-25 feet of water on lower lake dropoffs using spoons, spinnerbaits, and jig ‘n pig presentations. Afternoon sun often pushes fish up onto rocky points where large crankbaits in shad colors can be productive.
2. Crappie: Focus on brushpiles in 15-20 feet of water. Use small jigs on light six-pound line and employ vertical jigging techniques to entice bites.
3. Striper: Holding in deeper water around 30-35 feet, especially near Nutbush Creek and Rudds Creek Bridge. Live bait and 3/8 ounce bucktails are recommended for best results.

With stable water levels and mild temperatures for early January, fishing conditions are holding steady. Partly cloudy skies and light winds make for comfortable outings. Anglers should focus on deeper structures and brushpiles as fish remain less active in cooler water but will respond to presentations near cover and dropoffs. Persistence and varying retrieves will help unlock bites this week at Kerr Lake. Good luck out there!
