1. Largemouth Bass: Bass are active on main channel points and rocky drop-offs adjacent to buckbrush. Early and late day topwater action is productive, while midday calls for pitching plastic worms and lizards in pumpkin or green pumpkin colors around 5-15 feet deep near thick cover.
2. Striped Bass: Stripers are most active around Nutbush Creek and between Buoys 1-3. Try live shad freelining or trolling white bucktails early morning and evening. Night jigging with Hopkins Spoons or Sting Silvers can also produce quality fish.
3. Crappie: Crappie fishing remains excellent around brushpiles and bridge pilings in 8-15 feet of water. Live minnows are the preferred bait, with steady results throughout the day.
4. White Bass: Schools of white bass are roaming from Bluestone Creek to Buffalo Creek and on The Hump. Small bucktails and Little Georges are effective lures for active fish.
5. Catfish: Catfish continue to hit well on cut bait, especially near creek mouths and deeper holes below the dam.

Stable water levels and mild, partly cloudy weather are creating favorable conditions for a variety of species this week. Anglers can expect consistent action by targeting key structure and adjusting techniques with the time of day. Whether you’re chasing bass on topwaters or jigging for stripers at night, Kerr Lake is offering solid opportunities—get out early or stay late to make the most of the bite!
