1. Largemouth Bass: Bass are active in a variety of depths this week. Try targeting shallow rockpiles and wood cover in 3-6 feet of water early in the day with spinnerbaits and plastic grubs. As the day warms, check points and secondary rocky banks in 8-12 feet using slow-rolled crankbaits and creature baits.
2. Striped Bass: Look for schools of breaking stripers between Buoy 16 and the Clarksville Bridge, as well as near the mouth of Bluestone Creek. Trolling Cordell Redfins, Rebel FasTrak minnows, or Sassy Shads on 1/4 ounce jig heads remains productive, especially near shad schools close to shore.
3. Crappie: Excellent catches continue with small minnows fished over submerged brushpiles and around bridge pilings in 9-15 feet of water. Focus on mid-lake coves and creek mouths where schools are concentrated.
4. White Bass: Active around the mouth of Bluestone Creek and main lake coves from Route 58 Bridge to Grassy Creek. Trolling small spinnerbaits, Rooster Tails, or pearl-colored crankbaits yields the best results.
The stable mild weather and mostly clear skies this week provide ideal conditions for fall fishing at Kerr Lake. Water temperatures holding in the low 70s keep fish active throughout the day. With light winds and calm water, anglers should expect productive outings, especially in creek mouths and rocky points where baitfish are schooling. Whether casting crankbaits for bass or trolling for stripers and white bass, this is an excellent time to get on the water and enjoy consistent action.
