1. Black Bass (Largemouth and Smallmouth): Fish are transitioning to shallower structures, with many holding around docks, rocky points, and wood cover in 4-8 feet of water. Use soft plastics like Texas-rigged worms or swimbaits, and slow retrieve techniques to entice bites.
2. Crappie: Crappie are still active around brushpiles and submerged structures in the creeks and coves. Small minnows and jigs fished around creek channels and dock pilings are producing good numbers of 1-2 pound fish.
3. Stripers and White Bass: Schools of striped bass are beginning to move toward the mid-lake humps and creek channels, often chasing shad. Trolling small crankbaits or casting swimbaits near schools can yield limits. White bass are taking small in-line spinners and crankbaits in the main coves and near the mouth of Bluestone Creek.
4. Catfish: Flatheads and channels are active along the river channel edges and creek drop-offs. Use cut bait or live minnows, especially during early morning or late evening hours for best success.

With the stable weather and cooling water temperatures, expect the fishing to stay productive throughout the week. Fish are beginning to move into their fall patterns, making structure and baitfish key focal points. Keep an eye on the shallows during early morning and late afternoon, and don’t hesitate to explore deeper drop-offs and humps for the best results. Tight lines and happy fishing!
