1. Largemouth Bass: Bass are scattered but starting to school around submerged points and old road beds in 15-25 feet of water. Carolina-rigged plastic worms and creature baits in natural colors are effective, especially when worked slowly across rocky ledges and red mud points.
2. Striped Bass: Striper activity remains slow but steady near the dam and along main lake points from buoy 2 to 5. Trolling with bucktail jigs, Cordell Redfins in silver/black, and live shad is producing the best results, particularly during early morning and low-light hours.
3. Crappie: Crappie are holding around brush piles and submerged timber in 12-20 feet of water, especially near the Route 58 bridge and in Rudd’s Creek. Small live minnows and white or pink jigs fished just off the bottom continue to be productive.
4. White Bass: White bass schooling near creek mouths, including Grassy and Eastland Creeks, are responding well to jigging small spoons and Little George jigs in 15-20 feet of water.

With stable weather and cooler overnight temperatures, fishing conditions are gradually improving as fish begin to move into more active feeding patterns. Early mornings with patchy fog provide excellent low-light opportunities, so anglers should focus efforts during these times. Slow presentations on deeper structure and targeting brush piles will reward patience. Stay hydrated and enjoy the peaceful late summer days on Kerr Lake!
