1. Black Bass: With the warming trend and stable water levels, bass are beginning to move into shallow structures such as bushes, points, and creek back ends. Focus on spinnerbaits, crankbaits, jig ‘n pig, and soft plastics around submerged cover in shallow to mid-depth areas.
2. Crappie: Crappie are active around submerged structures in creeks and coves. Expect good numbers around brushpiles and fallen trees in 6-10 feet of water, using small minnows and jigs.
3. Stripers: Stripers are being caught on points in major creeks, especially around rocky areas and main lake points. Live and cut shad are effective, with trolling deep-divers like Redfins also producing fish in 15-20 feet of water.
As spring approaches, the weather remains stable with plenty of sunshine and gentle breezes, creating ideal fishing conditions. Fish activity should increase across all species as water temperatures continue to rise. Keep targeting shallow cover for bass, and stay around creek channels and submerged structures for crappie. Patience and versatility with your bait choices will serve you well this week. Tight lines and good luck out on Kerr Lake!
