1. Striper: Fishing remains productive using live bait and 3/8 ounce bucktails, especially near Rudds Creek Bridge and old river channel bends. Slow presentations in deeper water (15-25 feet) yield the best results.
2. Largemouth Bass: Bass are holding near main lake gravel points and riprap in 6-12 feet of water. Try slow-rolled spinnerbaits, jig ‘n pig combos, and crankbaits in shad patterns during mid to late afternoon.
3. Crappie: Crappie are concentrated above brushpiles and bridge pilings in 10-15 feet of water. Small minnows and jigs fished slowly remain effective.
Despite the chilly water temperatures, stable weather and light winds should provide good fishing opportunities this week. Focus on deeper structures and main lake points during warmer parts of the day. Patience and slow presentations will pay off as fish remain less active in the cold. Stay warm and enjoy the peaceful winter fishing at Kerr Lake!
